Each spring, graduating high school seniors whose parent or guardian is employed by the Richardson Police Department may apply for a scholarship. To ensure a fair and impartial selection process, applications are reviewed in a redacted format by a Scholarship Committee composed of active RCPAAA members.

Applicants are evaluated on a variety of factors, including academic achievement, standardized test scores, community service, extracurricular involvement, letters of recommendation, and a personal essay. The Scholarship Committee ranks the applicants and forwards its recommendations to the RCPAAA Board of Directors, which makes the final award selections based on available funding.

Scholarships are presented during a summer RCPAAA membership meeting, recognizing the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of these outstanding students.

Donations to the Scholarship Fund help the RCPAAA continue this long-standing tradition of supporting educational opportunities for the families of Richardson Police Department personnel and investing in the next generation of community leaders.
