BACK THE BLUE FUND

The Richardson Police Department is known for its commitment to excellence and its motto, "A Higher Caliber." The men and women of the Department demonstrate that commitment every day through their professionalism, dedication, integrity, and service to our community.

The Richardson Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association believes it is important for our officers and professional staff to know that the community stands behind them. Through the Back the Blue Fund, citizens have the opportunity to directly support the people who work every day to keep Richardson safe.

Because of our close partnership with the Richardson Police Department, the RCPAAA is uniquely positioned to identify opportunities where community support can make a meaningful difference. Donations to the Back the Blue Fund help provide equipment, programs, employee support initiatives, and other enhancements that improve safety, morale, and the working environment for Department personnel.

Every contribution helps demonstrate the community's appreciation for the dedicated men and women of the Richardson Police Department and reinforces the partnership between law enforcement and the citizens they serve.

Past Back the Blue Fund projects have included:

• LEGO replica of the Richardson Public Safety Complex
• Memorial Highway Signs remembering RPD Officer David Sherrard
• Holiday breakfasts for RPD employees
• Drones and other specialized equipment
• Bullet-resistant vest for a police K9
• Bicycles for children attending the UNIDOS Christmas Party
• Outdoor employee kitchen
• Ceremonial flag for the RPD Honor Guard
• Sponsorship of the annual RPD Awards Banquet.

These projects are examples of how community support can directly enhance officer safety, employee morale, community engagement, and Department programs that may not otherwise be possible.
