Get Involved!

The Richardson CPAAA is only as strong as the members who choose to stay involved. By participating in meetings, volunteering at events, and supporting Association programs, members help strengthen the partnership between the Richardson Police Department and the Community.

Whether you recently graduated from the Richardson Citizen Police Academy or completed the program years ago, we encourage you to remain active and engaged. Volunteers are always needed for community events and fundraising activities which support employee appreciation programs, scholarship initiatives, and support of retired RPD K9s.

Ways to Stay Involved

Graduating from the Richardson Citizen Police Academy is only the beginning. RCPAAA members continue supporting the Richardson Police Department by volunteering their time, participating in Association activities, and serving as ambassadors between the Department and the Community.

At the RPD, members assist with a variety of activities, including data entry, fingerprinting, event photography, staffing the RPD information tent at public events, driving vehicles to the COR Service Center, assisting RPD Officers, and checking the homes of residents who are away on vacation.

Monthly RCPAAA membership meetings also provide opportunities to learn more about Richardson Police Department operations and hear from representatives of other law enforcement agencies.

Members also play an important role in the Association’s major fundraising activities, including the Spring and Fall Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding events.

Whether you volunteer occasionally or participate regularly, staying involved gives you the opportunity to support the RPD, continue learning about law enforcement, build friendships, and strengthen your connection with the Richardson community.
