Scholarship Program

Established in 2006, the Richardson Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association’s Scholarship Program has awarded over $17,500 to 21 graduating seniors who are children of the Officers and Staff of the Richardson Police Department. Each year, a special committee of RCPAAA members accepts applications. Names of the applicants are removed to ensure no bias. The Scholarship Committee evaluates each application based on grades, test scores, extracurricular activities, an essay and letters of recommendation and then awards a number of scholarships based on the budget set by the RCPAAA Board of Directors for that year. The awardees are introduced and checks presented at the May RCPAAA General Membership Meeting.

Money for the Scholarships is raised through donations made directly to the Scholarship Fund. The Board of Directors annually allocates a portion of monies raised to the Scholarship Fund.
